Configuration Guide

Once OpenCode is installed, follow these steps to switch to a local provider:

Step 1: Start your local model

ollama run deepseek-coder-v2

Step 2: Configure OpenCode

Run the setup command and select "Local/Ollama" as your provider.

opencode config set provider ollama --endpoint http://localhost:11434

Performance Tip

Agentic tasks require high reasoning capabilities. While smaller models like Llama 3 8B are fast, they may struggle with complex refactoring. For best results, use models with at least 30B+ parameters.
